Tou Ten Kou was created by Mr. Oba in 2005. It features Yang Guifei’s Hikari body type, characterized by a rhombus-shaped tail fin and a dorsal fin that mirrors the anal fin.
The fish’s striking vermilion-orange body transitions into a shimmering guanine layer along its back, reminiscent of a sunrise.
Inspired by the luminous quality of the HIKARI* body type, the name Tou Ten Kou was chosen to reflect its brilliance.
******* The term HIKARI Body type *******
Originated from the migration of iridophore cells from the abdomen to the back, causing the fish to appear luminous when viewed from above.
Nowadays, since there are Hikari body types without this luminescence, identification is based on the tail and dorsal fins.
When breeding two Hikari body types, 99% of the offspring display the Hikari phenotype, making it a safe choice for beginners. Additionally, a high frequency of individuals with curved bones is another characteristic feature.
